Suburban Cosmos march on in Senior Amateur Cup

N O league games were arranged due to clubs playing in the first rounds of the GFA Senior Amateur Cup and GFA Junior Cup.

An 84th-minute goal from Gogglebox’s Tristan Plummer earned Cosmos UK a 2-1 victory over unbeaten Portland OB at Oaklands Park. James Bourton gave Cosmos a first-minute lead, but James Stokes-Johnson equalised on 68 minutes. Cosmos host Hambrook and Brimsham United in the second round.

In an all-Suburban clash at The Field, Premier Division leaders Almondsbury Reserves beat Old Cothamians 3-1 with second-half goals from Robert Sivers, Oscar Cox and Brandon Dack. Almondsbury finished with 10 men after Joe Smith was sent off.

On Friday night, Avonmouth Reserves earned a place in the second round at Hallen Reserves with a 3-0 penalty shootout victory against Wick following a 3-3 draw.

James Slater and Sam Jackson were on target for Jamaica Bell ina 3-2 defeat on Friday night against Mangotsfield United Development.
