Court action aims to stop World App data deletion

A group of people yesterday said they would petition the Central Administrative Court to oppose the orders issued by the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) instructing TIDC Worldverse to delete data the company collected from 1.2 million people via iris scanning.

Opas Cherdpunt, chief executive of M Vision Plc, which provides locations for installing iris scanning Orb devices, said he was gathering 500 people who could be affected by such an order, to oppose the PDPC's order at the Central Administrative Court.

He added that people who are willing to use World App and gain the benefits of Worldcoin would experience losses based on the value of the price of the coin, at an estimated total value of 1 billion baht from 1.2 million users.
