Cops 'strike down' 300 more scammers

Police have arrested more than 300 suspects nationwide in a sweeping crackdown on mule accounts and technology-related crimes.
The operation — “Saifa Fad: Striking Down Mule Accounts Across Thailand” — is being carried out from Nov 18 to 26, according to Pol Lt Gen Jirabhop Bhuridej, assistant national police chief and deputy director of the Cyber Crime Suppression Center (CCSC).
Pol Lt Gen Jirabhop said the CCSC intensified efforts due to the widespread impact of online crime. Since 2022, more than 1.09 million online fraud complaints have been filed, with losses exceeding 100 billion baht. Mule accounts remain a critical component of virtually all scam operations, he said.
