For Jane Wurwand, co-founder and chief visionary of Dermalogica, beauty is more than just what's on the surface

UNAPOLOGETICALLY Unique

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START DERMALOGICA?

When I emigrated to America from South Africa, I realised that professional industry training [for skin therapists] in the US was not nearly as comprehensive as other countries. Only seven US states even offered a basic licence! So I started the International Dermal Institute to offer advanced training to licensed skin therapists. Then, realising that there were no quality US professional products that delivered results in the treatment room, I saw an opportunity to create a unique line that's built on clean formulas, a minimalist look, and commitment to skin health, not beauty. In 1986, Dermalogica was born.
