Until recently, Jennifer Coolidge was best known for her roles in American Pie, Legally Blonde and 2 Broke Girls. But it’s her role as Tanya McQuoid in the hit HBO series The White Lotus that has catapulted her to new heights and has her star shining brighter than even she ever imagined it would.
IT ALL BEGAN WITH CHARLIE CHAPLIN...
Hailing from a large, loving family, Jennifer grew up in Norwell, a small town in Massachusetts, where her passion for entertainment was sparked at a young age. She recalls the day, when she was in the first grade, that her father allowed her to miss school, taking her along with him to a Charlie Chaplin film festival instead. There, she discovered a love for the arts, so big that it later led to her studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Jennifer reflects fondly on her memory of visiting that specific film festival as a bright-eyed little girl, and attributes it to the success of her acting career. 'It birthed my love of film, my love of actors,' she says.
During her studies in New York, Jennifer worked as a waitress at a restaurant called Canastel's alongside another up-and-coming actress who we have come to love, Sandra Bullock.
