REBUS Sat, 9.25pm, BBC1 Drama (box set, BBC iPlayer)
Single-minded Edinburgh detective John Rebus, the hero of Sir Ian Rankin's hit novels, is being brought to life once more in BBC1's new six-part thriller Rebus (which debuts on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer from Friday 17 May).
Richard Rankin stars as the cynical, maverick cop - previously played by John Hannah and Ken Stott - and although Rebus is retired in the most-recent books, the drama, set in the present day, reimagines him as a troubled Detective Sergeant in his 40s.
