DRAMA QUEENS

WEDNESDAY, 9PM, ITVBE REALITY

Amy Walsh is in the midst of a typically hectic day when TV Times calls her for an exclusive interview.

‘I’m just having a quick break from filming and trying to cram everything in,’ smiles the Emmerdale star, 37, who has played fan favourite Tracy Robinson (previously known as Tracy Metcalfe) in the ITV1 soap since 2014. ‘And, as soon as work’s finished, I’m off to a house viewing as we might be moving!’

Life is set to get even busier for Amy, who currently lives in Leeds with her husband, fellow actor Toby-Alexander Smith (who played EastEnders serial killer Gray Atkins), and their two-year-old daughter, Bonnie.

She’s one of nine leading ladies from Soapland giving viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their real worlds for new ITVBe series Drama Queens. The eight-parter will chart how they manage their home commitments with their professional responsibilities, showcasing their challenges and triumphs along the way. Here, Amy tells us why she’s thrilled to take part...

How did you become involved with this show?

One of the producers at Lime Pictures, who I worked with on Hollyoaks Later [Amy played Jennifique McQueen in the E4 spin-off in 2011], approached me. We bumped into each other at the National Television Awards and had a really honest, friendly chat about being new mums in this industry.
