The unknown grandeur.
At a distance of 14 km from Panna and 34 km from Khajuraho, the Pandav falls is a serene water fall located inside the Panna National Park, in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh.
The Pandav Falls are not known amongst tourists and mostly the purity of the place is enjoyed by the locals. Due to this factor, they have remained unexplored and comparatively less littered to other tourists destinations near Khajuraho
Surrounded by the massive walls of rock, and dense lush green forests, the fall is spectacular and accessed even during peak monsoon season. It is a perennial fall led by a tributary of the river Ken in Madhya Pradesh. The falls cascade down from a height of about 30 metres into a heart shaped pool, giving a romantic feel to the environment. At the foot of the falls there are some ancient caves overlooking a large pool of water. It is believed to be the resting grounds of the mighty Pandavs during their Agyaatwaas. The falls are named after the legendary Pandav brothers of the epic poem Mahabharata, who supposedly visited this area. Currently three caves are open for tourists while the remaining two are damaged by natural forces. Remains of caves and shrines that commemorate this legend can be seen around the pool below.
