As ideas go hitting Europe for a surf trip in deep winter isn't the first one that occurs to most Aussies in summer, considering they've got warm water and waves on the doorstep. That didn't stop photographer Guy Williment, filmmaker Spencer Frost and surfer Fraser Dovell booking the tickets and buying a really big coat each. They hit Iceland and Scotland at the harshest time of year and were rewarded with nature in all her glory. Here's Guy's version of events:
"There was a moment when we first hit the road where I honestly thought to myself, What on earth are we doing here?
The highway was covered in ice, and the wind was so strong that it was blowing clouds of snow in front of the car and you could barely see the road ahead. Literally everything you laid your eyes upon was covered in snow and we were trying to find waves in this place.
