THE Indian cricket board (BCCI) is on verge of cancelling the Ranji Trophy for a second successive domestic season citing a short window available up to the start of IPL in April.

It’s bizarre considering the same board managed to host two IPLs overseas successfully, two Test series last year, and part of IPL at home during peak of second wave, and not to mention host of white-ball domestic events.

Yet that the BCCI has failed to find a convenient window seems outrageous.
