Sputnik Production By SII From Sept

THE Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) have signed up to produce 300 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine annually in India. The first batch of production will start in September.

“As part of the technology transfer process, SII has already received cell and vector samples. With their import approved by the Drug Controller General of India, the cultivation process has begun,” read a statement from RDIF. Earlier, SSI had secured a contract to produce Novavax vaccines.
