TRIBUTES have poured in for a ‘warrior’ toddler who captured hearts before tragically passing away due to a rare heart condition.
Hendrix Cooper Washbrook, aged two, was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) at a 20-week scan.
His father, James Washbrook, said that, despite the diagnosis, the toddler had a ‘fairly normal life’, and enjoyed swimming and watching football.
However, Hendrix suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and died last week.
James, originally from Devonport and now living in Paignton, said: “Hendrix essentially only had half a working heart, which we knew from the 20-week scan, and had a palliative care plan, where we could adapt his heart to a certain extent and give him a fairly normal life with the disability in the background.
