THE reshaping of Plymouth railway station has taken another step forward with the doubling of the number of ticket machines and a widened gateline giving access to the platforms.

Improved access to rail station platforms

A sleek and modern new gateline, which has doubled in size, includes a second wider gate for those with wheelchairs, prams or large luggage, and is designed to reduce the bottleneck of people waiting to get on or off the platforms.

The improvements were funded through the first tranche of money from the Transforming Cities Fund, and is part of an overall remodelling of the railway station area which will be rebranded as Brunel Plaza.
