Fiona McGuigan, 60, dismissed her symptoms, which started after she returned from a holiday with her daughter Leah in Turkey early in March, as food poisoning.
But she was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital in Lanarkshire when her condition deteriorated.
Leah, a nurse, also had symptoms and had to self-isolate at home.
