FURY OVER CANCELLED OP STATS
CANCELLED operations and A&E delays are putting “lives on the line” in Scotland’s NHS, Labour have warned.
Public Health Scotland figures issued yesterday laid bare the acute crisis in Scotland’s NHS.
The numbers of p l a n n e d operations are down almost 31 per cent on pre-pandemic levels, with 275,000 scheduled procedures delayed.
Bed-blocking rose by 40 per cent over the same period last year as patients took up beds they didn’t need due to a lack of care packages for them.
And in some A&E wards, under half of patients are seen by a doctor within the four-hour timeframe target.
