THE man accused of blasting T2 actor Bradley Welsh to death with a shotgun told a jury he was on a bike ride at the time of the killing.
Sean Orman denies Bradley’s murder.
A MURDER accused on trial for gunning down T2 Trainspotting actor Bradley Welsh claimed he was on a lone cycle ride when the shooting happened.
Sean Orman is accused of blasting Welsh with a shotgun outside his home in Edinburgh’s New Town after previously showing “malice and ill will towards him”.
Welsh, a former boxing champion and prominent Hibs fan, was 48 when he was executed on his doorstep.
Orman went on trial at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday and denied all the charges against him. He is accused of shooting Welsh in Chester Street on April 17, 2019.
The 30-year-old is charged with possessing a loaded weapon in the street, a .410 shotgun, in contravention of the Firearms Act.
Welsh, who ran a boxing gym in the capital, played the character of Doyle in the sequel to Danny Boyle’s classic 1996 movie Trainspotting. He was praised for his charity work, which included fundraising for Helping Hands.
Orman is also accused of attempting to murder Welsh’s long-time friend David McMillan, 50, who was attacked by a masked gang at his home in the city’s Morningside a month before the fatal shooting.
