#1 FIND THE RIGHT MATTRESS
Given we spend a third of our lives sleeping, it’s important to choose a mattress to suit our individual needs. But which material is best? Organic latex mattresses are a great choice as they’re made from all-natural, sustainable rubber that conforms to your body shape and weight while simultaneously providing back support. Latex is naturally anti-dust mite and mould-resistant, so it’s perfect for allergy sufferers too.
Another important consideration is mattress firmness and comfort level. While there’s no hard and fast rule, a mattress that’s too soft for you can cause back discomfort, and a mattress that is too hard can lead to painful pressure points. The only true way to know what works for you is to lie down on a few mattresses for 15 minutes each. Singapore bedding store Heveya has sleep experts to guide you through and even allows you to try out a mattress at home for 100 days, swapping out the inner core for a different firmness if it doesn’t feel quite right.
Selecting the right mattress usually also depends on whether you sleep alone or with a partner – and sometimes you have to yield to your partner’s preferred firmness. Handily, at Heveya you can enclose two single mattresses in a king-size cover. This way, you can both choose your own preferred mattress firmness. Brilliant!
