Craft your way to a special Christmas

Have Yourself A Cozy Crochet Christmas

This Christmas, it feels more important than ever to create a cosy, inviting atmosphere in our homes for us to enjoy the Yuletide – and there is no better way to do this than by using your skills to crochet your own unique and meaningful decorations. We chatted to four designers and asked what they love about Christmas crafting and the different ways in which they make their living spaces at this time of year extra special…

CLASSIC CHRISTMAS MAKES

“I’m sure lots people have turned to their craft, or started crafting to help them get through this year. Christmas is the perfect time to focus ourselves on family and also on sustainability – getting creative and making decorations or gifts is a brilliant way to combine this,” says Sarah-Jane Hicks, crochet designer at Flo & Dot. Sarah-Jane likes to keep her Christmas crafting classic, but also adds a little of her personality into the mix – a good starting place for anyone thinking about getting their craft on for the first time. “I’m fairly traditional and usually keep it quite simple,” she tells us. “I like to use mostly reds, whites, golds and silvers, with random bursts of purples or pinks, and some quirky decorations like a string of Brussels sprouts or woolly jumpers and hats.”
