Old Park Meadow Natural Burial Ground and the Essex Wildlife Trust have teamed up to create a haven for flora and fauna
The new burial ground, between Chelmsford and Great Dunmow, is being transformed from 34 acres of farmland.
Already, a pond has been planted for wildlife alongside 3,200 young trees, 200 larger trees, several hundred metres of native hedging and thousands of Spring Bulbs. Plans include putting up Barn Owl nest boxes as part of the Essex Barn Owl Conservation Project run by the Essex Wildlife Trust.
