Kate's Royal Return

After enjoying a well-deserved break for the summer holidays, the Duchess of Cambridge returned to royal duties last week.

Kate arrived by helicopter at RAF Brize Norton to meet with military personnel and civilians who helped with the evacuation of Afghans from their country last month.

The Duchess was pictured in conversation with members involved in Operation Pitting, which saw more than 15,000 people airlifted out of Kabul. She was said to have commented on how some of the rescue flights included “babies, tiny babies”.

During the visit, in which she heard stories from both civilians and servicemen and women, she also shared her children’s passion for all things aviation.

“She did mention that her children are very interested in aircraft,” revealed Loadmaster Sergeant Mark Curtis.
