PARINEETI CHOPRA TELLS MAYUKH MAJUMDAR THAT SHE’S LOOKING FOR GREENER PASTURES AS FAR AS HER CAREER IS CONCERNED...
MAYUKH MAJUMDAR
New horizons

It’s late evening on a Friday and Parineeti Chopra still manages to look fresh as a daisy for her interview at Taj Land’s End in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb. A “long day?” is met with a smile and a “all well, I’m good”. Parineeti is dressed in all black looking like a million bucks. And superbly hiding all the nervousness she might be feeling on the eve of the release of her latest film, The Girl On The Train. Based on Paula Hawkins’ astoundingly popular 2015 novel of the same name, The Girl On The Train tells the story of an alcoholic divorcee facing blackouts who subsequently becomes embroiled in a murder investigation. There is already a Hollywood movie based on the book starring Emily Blunt and directed by Tate Taylor of The Help fame. “I’m dying of nervousness. I’ve never felt this nervous about any film. Girl On The Train means so much to me. Personally and professionally, I’ve invested so much in the film. I’m excited to finally hand it over to the audience and know what they think of it,” Parineeti says.
