JORDAN FLIS’ 2014 CORVETTE STINGRAY Z51 PACKS PLENTY OF STYLE AND PERFORMANCE
It’s often said that the path you choose in your youth helps shape the journey you take as an adult. If that path just so happens to be filled with kandy colored, chrome infused, hopped-up cars packed with high-performance V-8s we’d have to say that it sounds more like paradise road than anything else. In her 18 years, Jordan Flis of Fairfax, Virginia, has crossed plenty of bridges in the automotive world with her involvement in the hobby, starting as far back as she can remember.
With her dad, Jason, being the owner of both All American Street Rods (AASR) and JF Kustoms located in Manassas, it’s easy to see where her influences evolved from. Growing up along with her younger sister Lexi, it was commonplace for them to come home from school and see plenty of completed and in-the-works cars in the driveway, ranging from dazzling candy-coated Tri-Five Chevys to fully restored muscle cars and vintage Corvettes. It wasn’t long till regular visits to the shop fueled Jordan’s interests and she began to get involved helping her dad work on many of the ongoing projects on the weekends, increasing her knowledge as she moved forward.
Jason recognized her interests and by the time she was 12, got her involved in driving and maintaining her own Bandolero race kart powered by a 570cc Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine. Since the kart was constructed from only 150 parts for the entire package it was a perfect platform for her to learn on while she regularly raced it at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas. By age 14, she had moved on from kart racing and started the restoration of her first car: a 1966 Ford Mustang working alongside her dad at the shop. Add in regular visits to local cruise nights; large scale national automotive events, including Barrett-Jackson auctions and all types of auto racing and it’s easy to see her path was moving in the right direction.
