Could Honda’s CB1000R+ be the perfect commuter?
I’m ashamed to say I’ve onlymanaged to put a fairlymeagre 100 miles on theclocks of the CB1000R+this month. That’s not necessarily out of choice – but in my role as staff writer at the learner and commuter oriented newspaper, On2Wheels, I’ve been busy testing a range of small capacity commuters. But while pottering through towns and meandering past lines of traffic, I found myself thinking about what it is that makes the perfect commuter motorcycle.
When it comes to choosing a commuter motorcycle, there are innumerable factors to consider – but in reality, there are no hard and fast rules about what works best for the daily commute. Fuel consumption, comfort and ease of use are probably at the top of most riders’ lists – but what works for one person, probably won’t for another. Equally, I recognise that many motorcyclists have numerous bikes, suitable for a variety of different occasions, riding styles, and even seasons – but sadly we don’t all have that luxury.
