छत्तीसगढ़ में कांग्रेस की सरकार ने दो साल पूरे कर लिए. इस दौरान मुख्यमंत्री भूपेश बघेल ने राज्य में न केवल राजनैतिक स्थिरता प्रदान की बल्कि अर्थव्यवस्था पर कोरोना वायरस के संक्रमण की वजह से लगाए गए लॉकडाउन के असर को विभिन्न कल्याणकारी योजनाओं के जरिए सीमित कर दिया. यही नहीं, बघेल ने अपने राजनैतिक कौशल का भी परिचय दिया. पड़ोसी मध्य प्रदेश में कांग्रेस की कमलनाथ सरकार गिर गई और राजस्थान में गहलोत ने किसी तरह अपनी सरकार बचाई. इस बीच, बघेल ने न केवल अपने राज्य को कांग्रेस का प्रमुख गढ़ बना दिया बल्कि मजबूत विपक्ष को अस्थिरता पैदा करने का कोई मौका नहीं दिया, हालांकि महामारी और और राज्य में माओवादी उग्रवाद की वजह से उनके सामने भी कम चुनौतियां नहीं थीं. कोरोना लॉकडाउन के दौरान लाखों प्रवासी मजदूरों के छत्तीसगढ़ वापस आने से राज्य में कोविड फैला लेकिन मोटे तौर पर महामारी काबू में रही. ग्रामीणों, आदिवासियों और किसानों के लिए देश की बेहतरीन योजनाएं चलाने वाले छत्तीसगढ़ में कभी रोजगार की कमी नहीं रही. लॉकडाउन की वजह से जब स्कूलकॉलेज बंद हो गए तो उन्होंने ऑनलाइन और ऑफलाइन, दोनों तरह से शिक्षा जारी रखी.बस्तर जैसे आदिवासी इलाके में कनेक्टिविटी की दिक्कत थी, लिहाजा वहां ब्लूटूथ के जरिए कक्षाएं लगाई जा रही हैं, जिसे स्थानीय लोग 'बुल्टु के बोल' कह रहे हैं. बघेल पूरी विनम्रता के साथ कहते हैं, "शासन ने शिक्षकों को नहीं, बल्कि शिक्षकों ने शासन को रास्ता दिखाया है." भारत में अमूमन लोकप्रिय राजनीति अर्थव्यवस्था बिगाड़ देती है, लेकिन बघेल ने सियासी और प्रशासनिक सूझ-बूझ के दम पर छत्तीसगढ़ में मंदी का असर नहीं होने दिया और वे यह बात गर्व से बताते हैं. राज्य में किसानों, बेरोजगारों और आदिवासियों के लिए विभिन्न योजनाओं के लाभ दिख रहे हैं.मुख्यमंत्री भूपेश बघेल ने इंडिया टुडे के संपादक अंशुमान तिवारी से अनेक मुद्दों पर बेबाकी से बातचीत की. प्रस्तुत हैं बातचीत के प्रमुख अंश:
