The price of shrimp "very close" to the lowest point because of large purchases for the end of the year is expected to take place and accelerate in the next few weeks.

Shrimpnews quoted Jim Gulkin, CEO of Siam Canadian Group Thai frozen seafood producer, based in Thailand, has offices across Asia, saying the lowest price point will come because of the abundance of small shrimp harvested early in the market pull.
He said, seeing a large number of crude shrimp sized 71s go into processing throughout Asia. Small shrimp are landing in Thailand, Indonesia, India and Vietnam.
