Women in Mediterranean countries have long known that garlic kills off toenail fungus, and now a study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology proves the folk cure works. Researchers credit the compound ajoene in garlic with killing off spores completely in as little as seven days for 79% of folks—that’s better than prescription medications.
