Holding the handle of her busted grocery bag, Eleanor gaped as her blueberry container skidded across the parking lot.
Could her morning get any crazier? Perhaps she could get toppled by a meteor?
First, the dog had kept her awake all night. Then she discovered she was out of coffee. Now the blueberry cupcakes she’d promised Judy for the grand opening of the Too Much to Mention flea market were endangered.
Eleanor closed her eyes, breathing deep, when a deep voice startled her. “Hang on! I’m pretty sure I can rescue those berries under the Jeep.”
Eleanor popped open her eyes. A man was striding over. He couldn’t suppress his grin…or his striking good looks.
“Consider it my good deed for the day,” he said and knelt beneath the truck.
Her friend Judy claimed that deep breaths helped de-stress, but Eleanor felt like a whirligig in a windstorm. She surely looked it too, since she hadn’t bothered with makeup. She checked her reflection in a car window and shrieked. She’d forgotten to remove the gigantic purple chip bag clip holding up her hair.
She looked like a demented peacock. No wonder the blueberry hero was grinning!

Weight drops, mood soars
A big reason many of us want to lose weight is simply to feel better-happier, healthier, more at ease, more energized. Now there's evidence a twist on lowcarb eating not only speeds off fat, \"it can lead to remarkable mood improvements,\" says Georgia Ede, M.D., Harvard-trained author of Change Your Diet, Change Your Mind. Consider this: When scientists recently put seniors on a low-carb plan enhanced with nuts, they lost 14.8 times more weight and saw spirits soar 6.89 times higher than traditional low-cal dieters. As a bonus, \"when well-being increases that much, sustaining healthy changes becomes easier long-term,\" notes Dr. Ede. Colorado grandmother Ashley Malik is living proof.
