When a cousin's friend, a 10-year-old boy named Jackson, landed in the hospital at Christmastime, something stirred in the tender heart of then seventh-grader Ashley Stracco of Hanover, Massachusetts. The poor kid, I wonder if Ashley thought there is something nice my friends and I could do for Jackson that will help him feel better?
Ashley gave it some thought and I got an idea: She tapped several dozen friends to write Jackson greeting cards. She collected 55 cards. Jackson was so happy. He said they helped make his Christmas better.
Hearing that, Ashley made a decision: I want to keep doing this for other people!
