SAILING THE SHIP ALONE!

The sky was closer, the stars seemed easy to touch, and the world seemed like the most beautiful place to live in, when seen from atop the shoulders of the superhero we call our father.

Some are friendly, some are tough, some are fun to hang out with, some are strict, some are at home with their children all the time, some have to go out to work, some are celebrities, some are influencers, but to their children, they are just dads!

While all dads are amazing, some are less credited by society. Let’s talk about those who raise their children single-handedly, without their partner by their side. It’s not easy to be a single dad and statistics show that single fathers face more physical and mental challenges while raising their children. When it comes to single parenthood, research and social media is mostly just focused on single mothers.

Studies show that single fathers have a greater risk of mortality than partnered mothers, poorer self-rated health and mental health, higher levels of psychological distress and generally, lower socioeconomic status. However, single fathers are largely understudied and less credited compared to single mothers.

The Stressful Reality Of Single Fathers

Emotional challenges: Single fathers may experience a range of emotions, including loneliness, guilt, and frustration. They may struggle to adjust to the new role of being a single parent and dealing with the emotional needs of their children.
