Have you ever been ghosted? Yes, it's the worst feeling. It was the citadel of the male species some decades ago when the word 'ghosting' had not yet been coined. Then the empowered women joined in.
But it is still not considered cool, because, today, we live in a society that strives to be honest in its relationships and has hordes of counselling support systems and openness to love and romance.
The term 'ghosting' refers to abruptly ending, or temporarily ending, of a relationship without an indication and cutting away any sort of communication. Being there and then unexpectedly disappearing.
When one person in the relationship just disappears, this kind of behaviour hangs life in a limbo; questions loom, and no answers are found. An uncertainty fills the relationship, even if it has been rekindled.
The Frequency Of Ghosting
Unfortunately these days, ghosting has become a thing. It happens often. The University of Western Ontario revealed that in a survey, 65 per cent of the participants had disappeared on their partners, and 72 per cent of them had been ghosted. That is a high percentage. It seems the possible cracks in a romantic relationship are waiting to happen. Therefore, we need to study the reasons for this phenomenon that is gripping the society.
