As we attempt to regain some normality in our lives, the last thing any of us wants is to get sick. Unfortunately, health experts are warning that we could be heading for a tough season, consisting of a "triple threat" of the flu, COVID and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus).
With COVID boosters now available and news that an RSV vaccine is on the way, it's also important that we don't forget our annual flu shots.
If you haven't had your flu vax yet, pharmicist Brenton Hart says the time to book an appointment is right now.
"Yearly influenza vaccination is recommended for people aged six months and over." Vaccinations are available at GP clinics and selected pharmacies. Brenton adds, "By getting vaccinated against influenza, you can also help protect other people, especially people who are too sick or too young to be vaccinated.
"It also means you can attend family gatherings or nursing homes with confidence and comfort."
