KATE'S NIGHTMARE FITZY'S SHOCK EXIT

A move back to Adelaide could spell the end for the hit show
KATE'S NIGHTMARE FITZY'S SHOCK EXIT

When Kate Ritchie joined Fitzy and Wippa’s radio show in March, it was hailed as her celebrated return to radio after an unplanned hiatus and a controversial exit from her successful drive show Kate, Tim & Joel, amid rumours of a bitter fallout with fellow host Tim Blackwell.

But now it looks like the future of the family-friendly brekkie show is uncertain, with Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald, 47, rumoured to be planning to relocate to Adelaide with his wife Belinda Jay Irons and their two sons within the next six months.

An insider reveals to Woman’s Day that Nova execs are very likely to agree that Fitzy can broadcast remotely from South Australia in a last-ditch attempt to save one of their best-loved personalities from quitting – and field any incoming drama in the Sydney office!

“Fitzy has always planned to move back home eventually – he wants to give his kids the kind of laid-back upbringing he had in South Australia as a child – so this isn’t the first time he’s asked to record his breakfast show from South Australia,” Woman’s Day’s radio sleuth tells.

According to reports, the bosses were backed into a corner after regularly allowing fellow radio talent Dave Hughes to record his Sydney show from Melbourne, and couldn’t say no.
