JOANNE LEES AUSSIE DREAM LIFE ON HOLD!

Two decades on from Peter Falconio's murder, his partner is still living alone in the UK
JOANNE LEES AUSSIE DREAM LIFE ON HOLD!

Twenty-two years ago, Joanne Lees became part of Australia's most baffling murder mystery when her boyfriend Peter Falconio was brutally killed in the Aussie outback.

Now, days after celebrating her 50th birthday, photos obtained by Woman's Day show that Joanne is living a quiet, simple and apparently solitary life in the UK.

Six years ago, a happy Joanne publicly declared she was hoping to reinvent her life by getting Australian citizenship and moving closer to her long-lost Kiwi half-sister.

In an interview with 60 Minutes the Brit admitted to not wanting to go back to her old life in England.

But it appears that Joanne's hopes for a fresh start, putting the trauma of her past behind her, have yet to pan out.

She was recently pictured leaving the terrace home she's owned for 16 years in the village of Berry Brow, on the outskirts of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire.

Only a few days before the photos were taken, Joanne celebrated her significant birthday, but it appears her new-found family were not present to celebrate with her.

BRAVE RETURN
