Laura Shepherd-Robinson's childhood was filled with adventures and magical stories
'Dad has ALWAYS been there for me'

I must be about two years old in this photo. I think it was taken at the Ashton Court Estate, just outside Bristol, where we lived throughout my childhood. I was always very close to my dad [actor and broadcaster Tony Robinson]. He worked in London most weeks and only came back at weekends, so my lovely mum, who died a few years ago, did all of the childcare during the week - she was a superstar. I would get so excited on Fridays because it meant I would see Dad again. He was always planning things to entertain us: magical stories, treasure hunts and special projects.

I learned to read when I was two-the Miffy the rabbit books were my favourite. Dad made me a cut-out Miffy and we made outfits for her out of paper, along with accessories like pets and meals. The paper fried breakfast sticks in my mind!
