For 24 years, TV presenter Graham Norton has been eliciting juicy stories and showbiz gossip from Hollywood A-listers. But trying to get Graham to talk about his own personal life can be a bit like pulling teeth.
The A-list chat show host and national treasure made headlines in July when it was reported that he’d got married. It came as a shock, given Graham hadn’t mentioned having a significant other, and hadn't appeared with anyone on the red carpet for years. So when we caught up with Graham recently to chat about a new run of The Graham Norton Show and the publication of The his fourth novel, Woma Week Forever Home, we dared to ask Graham intervi whether the rumours were true. Had famously single Graham finally got hitched at the mature age of 59?
'Yes, I'm married,' confirms Graham with a smile over our Zoom call and, when asked, holds up his simple gold wedding band. 'His name is Jono and he's a film-maker.' Graham reveals that he and Jono had married earlier in the year, but had the belated reception at a smart hotel in Bantry, Ireland, and at Graham's nearby summer home. And that was because the area is close to the town of Bandon, where his 90-yearold mother, Rhoda, still lives (and where Graham spent most of his childhood).
