Filling a cup full of bright blue slushie, I popped in a paper straw and smiled at my young customer. Standing on his tiptoes, peering into my snack van, he scanned my offerings. Hot dogs, chips, burgers and cocktails for the grown-ups. ‘A burger too, please,’ the young boy decided, as a queue began forming behind him, much to my delight.
Just a few years ago, I was tired and stressed in my banking job. Flipping burgers at festivals and events had been just a dream, but now here I was, finally making that dream a reality.
