SO, did Mum have anything new to say about your wedding plans?" Alice asked, as she and Chloe were shown to a table.

They were meeting their client, Aanya, and her mother in a luxury hotel.

Chloe's face lit up at the mention of her own wedding.

"Well, she'd got over the initial shock," Chloe said.

"When I first talked to her she could hardly speak." "They're not still on about cancelling their holiday, are they?" Alice asked, looking concerned.

"No. They wouldn't get their money back, so they're still going, but I imagine I'll be messaging Mum several times a day.

"And they're only going for a few days. She was mostly worried about getting a venue in time.

It's only a week away! "But thank goodness that's sorted." "Getting married on January fourteenth was a brilliant idea," Alice said with a smile.

"I was really upset over that other bride cancelling at such short notice, but really, it couldn't have worked out better.

"You've practically taken over the wedding we planned for her.

"Anyway, I think I can see Aanya and her mother. So, Chloe . . ." "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" "Try," Alice said urgently, "to behave like a professional.
