MUM'S WORST NIGHTMARE
Pick Me Up !|September 29, 2022
When Kayleigh Maud, 35, from Bradford, got a phone call from the school gates, her world fell apart.
MUM'S WORST NIGHTMARE

Hearing the rustle of cereal and glugging of orange juice from the kitchen, I padded downstairs.

'Hi, Mum,' my daughter Amber said, as she grabbed a bag of crisps for her lunch.

Morning, darling,' I said, giving her a kiss.

As her older sisters, Bethany and Faith, put on their shoes, Amber grabbed her school bag and slung it over her shoulder.

See you later, love you,' she called out, as the three of them headed out of the door.

'Love you,' I shouted back.

Heading to the window, I gave them all a wave as they jumped into their Nan's car for a lift to school.

Amber, 12, Faith, 13 and Bethany, 15, all went to the same high school, while my younger son Jacob, 10, went to primary school.

My youngest son Theo, with my partner Jonny, 37, was just a toddler.

I dropped him off at my mum Lesley's house, and went back home to start work.

It was a normal, boring day back in November last year.

picking the kids up from school to take them to the dentist.

But all day, I had a feeling that something was a bit off.

I couldn't explain it-it was like I felt a bad omen.

But I brushed it aside and got on with my day.

That afternoon, Jonny was 'Be back soon,' he said, as he grabbed his keys and left.

As my phone rang with a client call, I got on with work.

But 15 minutes later, my mobile buzzed.

When I saw Jonny's name flash up, I frowned.

He's only just left, I thought. needed to go to Amber. I was in complete shock.

As I gathered myself, I rang Jonny back.
