Feeling powerless is a desperate, overwhelming sensation that often comes when you least expect it. It's a feeling Auckland-based counsellor Bree Nicholls knows all too well. The founder of The Being Way (thebeingway. co), a coaching method that combines coaching, therapy, and mindfulness, reveals as we slowly emerge out of the Covid-induced cocoons we have wrapped ourselves in over the last few years, it's normal to feel a lack of purpose, power or motivation. Being held captive by events beyond our control means that an adjustment to a new way of living is required as the lasting effects of this may take years to be fully understood.
She says you may have experienced any or all of the following in recent times: frustration, sadness, loneliness, lack of connection, loss of relationships, or loss of purpose or meaning in your life.
When it comes to these feelings, it is helpful to know when and where to surrender, where to adapt and where to focus your energy in order to create the change you want to see in your life.
