Making compost is not an exact science. Each batch will be different due to the seasonal availability of scraps, the changes in the weather and variations in your compost management.

It’s inevitable that at some point you’ll make a batch that goes bad. Thankfully, composting is a forgiving process and you can always fix a mistake. Here are the most common composting problems and their solutions. 

MY COMPOST IS FULL OF BUGS

Believe it or not, this may not be a problem. An active composting system and worm farm will be alive with all sorts of critters that are busy recycling your waste. I really encourage you to try to get over the ick factor when it comes to creepy crawlies. The right bugs are essential workers in the community of micro-organisms that consume your scraps and transform them into black gold!
