Mix up natural wood, reclaimed units and vintage treasures for a kitchen with heart
HOME comforts: INSPIRATION & ADVICE

There's something for everyone in the latest kitchen trends, from sleek surfaces to vintage finds and an appreciation of natural materials with timber topping the list of the latter according to Melissa Klink, creative director at kitchen specialists Harvey Jones.

"We are expecting to see a demand for timber in the kitchen, especially our oak options," she said.

Earthy tones such as dusky pinks, terracotta and beige look set to trend for 2023 kitchens, while timber is offset by cool tones in work surfaces such as granite and marble, with marble being particularly in demand.

"Pulling out the blues, greens and pinks from within marbles, granites and other worktop surfaces is a perfect way to balance out the warmth of wood while it still gives a dynamic impact without needing to paint it with colour," adds Melissa.

The popularity of wood and natural materials is also in tune with the trend towards sustainability and ecofriendly kitchens, from using pre-loved units from companies such as Usedkitchenexchange.co.uk to selecting suppliers and materials with good sustainability credentials.
