Fado and Mando A musical evening in Panjim
Travellers' World|October 2022
If India as they call it, is the land of Festivals Panjim can well be the epicenter of celebration. Goa has always been branded with the celebration of life and a place to enjoy. Tania Banerjee took us on to journey right in heart of a musical evening in Panjim.
Fado and Mando A musical evening in Panjim

In front of me is a quiet alley with a clock tower. It is hemmed on two sides by brightly painted buildings. An elderly woman looks out from her porch. A dog sits on a staircase while a cat lounges nearby. These are the subjects of a wall painting that mimics a quaint alley in Lisbon. Some 40 members of the audience, both locals and tourists, are seated on satin-covered chairs that face this wall. In a more than 250-years old Portuguese house by the shore of the river Mandovi, they are waiting for the musical evening to begin. I am at Madragoa in Panjim, Goa.
