SAMSUNG OLED G9 240 HZ 49" ULTRA-WIDE MONITOR
Mark Henninger
QD-OLED FTW

THE SAMSUNG OLED G95SC is a genuine "world's first" for a gaming monitor with its 240 Hz, 49-inch QD-OLED screen. Its ultra-thin profile and light weight, despite its epic dimensions, make it surprisingly easy to assemble and adjust. The $2,200 MSRP may be high but is a reflection of the cutting-edge technology found within.

This monitor is a bit of a break from the TV and projector reviews that we usually feature in the magazine. It was included due to its unique and groundbreaking technology.

Over a decade ago, gaming surpassed Hollywood and the music industry combined in size. Today, the gap is even larger: gaming generates more than twice, and perhaps even triple, the combined revenue of movies and music. So it's no surprise we're seeing significant innovation in the gaming monitor market; this Samsung monitor epitomizes the trend.

This trend is only accelerating. Gaming has now evolved into a spectator sport with professionals relying on hyper fast, ultra-performance gear to maintain their competitive edge. This monitor is a ticket into that world, no doubt. However, it should not be discounted for other applications, including photo and video editing.

If you appreciate high-quality products and are willing to be an early adopter, this is arguably the finest ultrawide monitor for your desk.

FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS

The monitor's native resolution is Dual QHD (5120 x 1440 pixels). The screen features an 1800R curve, which is less extreme as last year's G9 that had a 1000R curve. The maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz delivers some of the most fluid and ultra-detailed graphics seen in any context.
