iPhone 14 arrives

The iPhone 14 lineup introduces Emergency SOS via satellite, enabling users to message with emergency services when outside of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.

THE NEXT GENERATION of iPhone is here. iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch screen and starts at $799, the same as the launch price of iPhone 13 (which remains available, now starting at $699), while iPhone 14 Plus has a new 6.7-inch screen (the same size as iPhone 13 Pro Max) and starts at $899. Both models have impressive camera enhancements and new safety capabilities, although they are less of an upgrade than the new Pro models (see page 8).

Both iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have an A15 Bionic chip with a 5-core GPU (the same chip as the iPhone 13 Pro). Both have "aerospace-grade" aluminum cases available in five colors, and a revised internal design for better thermal performance. Both sizes of screen are Super Retina XDR displays with OLED technology that supports 1,200 nits of peak HDR brightness, a two-million-to-one contrast ratio, and Dolby Vision.

Both iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also feature the durable Ceramic Shield front cover - exclusive to iPhone and tougher than any other smartphone glass and are protected from common spills and accidents with water and dust resistance to IP68 standard.
