CYBERPUNK 2077 had a rocky start when it launched on PC and consoles in 2020, with bugs and awful performance thoroughly ruining the experience. Thankfully, a lot has changed since then, and now that it has arrived on Mac, we can safely say that it's one of the best games available on Apple's platforms.

The game is set in the dystopian future of 2077, and is located in the fictional Night City, a megalopolis run by vast corporations and vicious gangs. This is a city of staggering inequality, where the wretched shamble among polluted ruins while the wealthy sneer down on them from their glass towers. It's a world where people have augmented their bodies with electronic upgrades known as cyberware, which provide superhuman strength or under-skin armor — but tweak too much and you risk losing your mind to cyberpsychosis.

You play as V, a mercenary trying to make it big in this brutal town. After a failed mission, you're forced to insert a powerful chip known as the “relic” into your body's cyberware system. It saves your life from a bullet to the brain, but then comes the bad news: the chip is slowly overwriting your mind with the personality of a long-dead rocker-cum-militant, giving you just weeks to live. Together with your new parasite, you must find a cure among the shady dealers and backstreet surgeons of Night City, setting the stage for one of the most unlikely partnerships in gaming history.
