MATT Butcher and his Plymouth pals have carved up League One this season – and now he can’t wait for some meaty challenges in the Championship next term.
Table-topping Argyle made sure of their place in the second tier next season when they edged out Burton 1-0 at a jampacked Home Park last weekend. They can clinch the title this afternoon when they visit Port Vale, but all the attention will quickly turn to the prospect of Championship football for the first time since 2010.
It’s something to whet the appetite and former Bournemouth and Accrington man Butcher is eager to sink his teeth into an appetising prospect.
“I think it’s just the type of teams you play against,” said the midfielder when asked what he was most looking forward to in the Championship. “If you take a look at the Premier League relegation battle now, there are going to be three huge teams coming down and there are massive teams already in the Championship.
