Summer camps are one of the best exposures for kids where they can learn new things, try out a variety of sports and develop personalities. Another beneficial factor of such camps is that they can be used for talent hunt. Several times young promising players have been found through summer camps. A recent example of such a find is Thane’s Rudrankksh Patil.
Rudrankksh was sent to a summer camp and there his shooting skills were noticed by the coaches they advised him to take the sport seriously and later on he emerged as the World Shooting Champion and is regarded as the successor of Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra.
This 18-year-old has already bagged around 19 international medals, including 14 gold. This includes the prestigious title of World Championship held last year, in which he also won the gold in team events. With this title, he also secured an Olympic quota for India. He has more than 50 medals in his kitty, including 26 gold medals at the national level competitions. He has achieved the top rank in the junior World ranking as well as in the senior World ranking.
