MAGICAL MONSOON OF THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT

Surrounded by three great water bodies the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and the Bay or Bengal, India is strategically posited to receive the Monsoon on schedule each year between the First and Second week of June.

The sight of dark water laden clouds bring joy to all the animals which have endured a long period grazing on parched patches. The reason for this joy for these wild ruminants is also because they can now move deep into the forest from the fringes.

Water, the life of the forest quenches the thirst, makes the earth greener and awakes the hibernating amphibians and reptiles. This is their time, the time to find a mate.

All ranks of the forest, the floor, the bushes, the vines and the upper canopy is filled with activity. The cacophony of sounds fill life back into a forest which had held its breath for quite some time.

The beauty of the forest is in all its glory. Filled with flowers, falling fruits, and sprouting seeds the aroma filled humus feels like the earths skin is breathing again.

To add on to this, birds from faraway places migrate to make the best out of this bounty. Hundreds of different species fly across latitudes and arrive on time.
