Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (for PC): Awesome Adventure

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has migrated from the Sony PlayStation 5 to the PC, giving comic-book fans the best iteration of this impressive superhero action game to date. Like the PS5 remaster, this PC game features improved lighting, lightning-quick loading, enhanced frame rates, ray-traced reflections, and other graphical improvements that make the characters and cityscape pop.

The excellent core gameplay loop hasn’t changed much since the original PlayStation 4 release, though the PC version includes all the previously released DLC (downloadable content). You spend your time swinging from skyscrapers, beating up thugs, collecting hidden goodies, and stopping iconic Marvel supervillains. The optional content can be a bit banal, and some of the suit powers seem way more overpowered than others. Still, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered runs great on the PC, and if this is your first time with the game, you’re in for a real treat that’s worthy of our Editors’ Choice award.

SIGHTSEEING IN NEW YORK CITY

Marvel’s Spider-Man plays like a greatest-hits scenario, where classic Spider-Man villains team up to take down Peter Parker and Norman Osborn. The presentation is fantastic; the game has terrific facial animations and top-notch voice acting. New York City also looks impressive with its detailed, familiar skyline. The façade breaks a bit when you see repetitive building interiors or the occasional out-of-place landmark, but it’s still a remarkable rendition of Manhattan.
