SURPASSING THE SPEED LIMIT
Casual Game Insider|Fall 2022
What about the games? Below are just a smattering of the games to look out for coming out of Gen Con. These games made their debut at Gen Con and are now available for everyone to purchase.
SURPASSING THE SPEED LIMIT

DULCE

1-4 players | 30 minutes.

A game combining elements of Century: Spice Road and Stardew Valley, Dulce challenges players to cultivate the necessary ingredients to create sweet treats in each player's factories.

EXIT: THE GAME

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: SHADOWS OVER MIDDLE-EARTH

1-4 players | 45-90 minutes

The popular Exit series of escape room puzzles joins forces with The Lord of the Rings franchise to put players in the role of hobbits to carry out a mission given to them by Gandalf.

TERRACOTTA ARMY

1-4 players | 90-120 minutes

Don't let the playtime fool you minus a bit of difficulty with final scoring, Terracotta Army is a very accessible and intriguing worker placement game where players are collecting resources to build and place the famed statues used to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in his death.

BOOP.

2 players | 20-30 minutes

Everyone likes cats, and plenty of people love abstract strategy games, so boop. hits that wonderful middle ground for so many. Players are trying to line up three of their kittens in a row to get them to become cats, and then must get three cats in a row. But every time a new kitten is placed on the bed, every cat is moved one space away. This game is cute and thinky.

COMING SOON

These are games coming to crowdfunding or hitting retail shelves within the next year that had their unveiling at Gen Con.

THE FOX EXPERIMENT

This is the newest game from Wingspan designer Elizabeth Hargrave (with help from Jeff Fraser).
